July 2005 Great news. Tales of the Talisman, a fantasy magazine, has accepted one of my short stories for publication. A Lifetime to Love is a fantasy with a twist to the Lancelot, Guinevere love story and will be published in the June 2006 issue of Tales of the Talisman. You can find information on the magazine here. January 2005 Sword Across Time is now being carried at Books A Million, Chapters, Barnes and Noble and Amazon online. You are able to order my book and have it shipped within 24 hours. It's also available in Barnes and Noble catalogue for stores to order and carry on shelves, so I'll be working on getting Barnes and Noble's all across the States to order a few copies and carry it in stock. November 2004 I have the most amazing news. I'm so thrilled I can hardly wait to share. I recently purchased a 35 page critique in a benefit for an author who had been hospitalized and overrun with medical bills. The author I was lucky enough to be critiqued by was Barbara Bretton, and it was with great nervousness I sent her my the first 35 pages of a romance I recently completed. A short while later my 35 pages were in the mail along with a five page letter written in Barbara Bretton's own hand writing. My hands shook in trepidition as I opened the envelope and read. By the time I finished reading the letter, I was literally on cloud nine. SHE LOVED MY WRITING. Whohooooo! Just because I am so thrilled, I'm going to brag a little and list some of her comments below. ...you do the most important (and most difficult) thing with effortless grace--make a reader care about your characters and root for a happy ending. You did a wonderful job of switching between character viewpoints. The rhythm changes, word choices, pacing. Excellent! I love your writing. You have a gift for warm, accessible prose and strong storytelling skills. Thank you so much for the pleasure of your words....It was a privilege and a delight. Okay, I won't torture you with any more of her comments, and thanks for putting up with my self-indulgence. But the thrill of having someone like Barbara Bretton enjoy my writing, is such a boost and motivation. So I would definitely prompt everyone to go out and buy her books, she is a wonderful writer. Her stories are warm and beautifully written. Her website is: There's more. I also purchased a critique for 35 pages of a fantasy I've recently completed. This time the author was Sherrilyn Kenyon. If you haven't read her books you're missing out. Her books are thrilling, packed full of interesting characters and action. In her critique of my work she said that the story had a lot of potential and my dialogue and sense of timing are well developed. She also said that my voice is much along the line of the old fantasy writers. Visit her website at: |
